William Franklin Carney, 74, of Ripley, formerly of Charleston, passed away, August 10, 2022, after a long Illness.
He was born March 9, 1948, in Charleston, to the late Willard F. and Mary Markham Carney. He was also preceded in death by first wife, Mertie Frances Carney, sisters, Angela Hope Carney and Robin McCormick
Bill was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran of the Viet Nam War. He loved hunting and fishing and gospel music and founded the Singers Schedule and sang and recorded music.
He is survived by his loving family, daughters, Mary Hunter (Ray) and Brenda Pfost (Gary), grandchildren, Michael Henley (Natalie), Matthew Henley (Charie), George Mowrey (Kary), Cierra Riggs, Tiffany Pfost, Tracey Pfost, Tara Spurlock (Joe), John Pfost (Heather), Ashley Pfost, Aaron Pfost (Kayla), great grandchildren, Maddie, Eli, Tabitha, Caine, Makayla, Braiden, Carissa, Isabel, Bunky, Kennedy, Taylin, Harper, Taylor, Henry, and one on the way, sisters, Rhea Faith Hayman (Dan) and Charity Grisanti (Bill), 2nd wife, Ann Lee.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Hissom Gospel Tabernacle, Spring St., Charleston, WV 25301, with Pastor Greg Casto officiating. Burial with Marine Corp. Military Rites, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, WV will follow. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time, Saturday at the church.
