William Edward (Eddie) Greenleaf 73 of Charleston, WV left his earthly home on January 19, 2024, for a new home where all illnesses are cured. Eddie was born on January 27, 1950, in Charleston to the late Lenn Edward and Anna Louise Ellison Greenleaf. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents. Grandfather Euarth Greenleaf and sister Patty Greenleaf Taylor. He is survived by sisters Anne (Terry) Stone, Phyllis Jeanie (Mike) Thaxton,
Susan E. (Rick) Sykes. 3 nieces, and 6 nephews. He is also survived by his girlfriend Jolinda Edens and his former wife Bonnie Boston. Although Eddie was blind since birth, he did not let that get in his way, he attended the West Virginia School for The Blind and was retired from Verizon as a long-line technician after 38 years. Eddie was a very active member and officer in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 519, He got great joy out of participating in the poker runs to provide toys for kids at Christmas and the Easter Parties they held. Even though Eddie had a loving family he considered everyone at the Eagles his close family also, Fly High Eagle Eddie for you will be missed.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM with a gathering of family and friends from 10:00 AM till the time service starts with Rev. Terry L. Stone officiating. Service will be at Elk Funeral & Cremation Service 2001 Pennsylvania Avenue Charleston, WV, and Interment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, WV. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation towards the toy drive in Eddie's memory to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 519, 4004 Virginia Street W. Charleston, WV 25302.
