Roy Clayton Canterbury of Marmet, WV

Born July 2, 1974 

Left this world, his family, and his troubles behind to find eternal Peace on June 27, 2024.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents Franklin “Tiny” Canterbury and Sue Vance. What a beautiful reunion that would be!

He is survived by his sister, caretaker, and very best friend, Linda Canterbury of Charleston, WV. Brothers, Frank Canterbury (Jayme) of South Charleston, Danny Canterbury of Marmet, and Dana Canterbury of Marmet.

Roy is also survived by his daughters Abi Canterbury and Grace Canterbury. Nieces Jessica Halstead (Michael Moss), Shannon Piscopo, Madison Workman(Stephen Fleshman II) (“she who does very little but works”), and Haven Canterbury. Nephews Remington Workman (Ashley Painter) Nick Canterbury, Franklin Canterbury, Cameron Canterbury, and Dana Canterbury. Great nephew Shelby Halstead, great niece Harley Moss (his little blonde girl), and many other great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind the woman who always had his heart and soul.

Roy is no longer fighting his demons and is finally free and at peace. For that we are thankful. Our selfish selves also just want him back and to walk through the door and say “baaageeek”. Roy’s heart was as big as the sky and he would have done anything for the people he treasured the most, and that was his family. Until we meet again, “Uncle Roy”. 

Per his wishes, Roy will be cremated and a “get together” for his life will be held at a later date. Elk Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to be assisting Roy’s family.
