Robin Danese Mccormick

Robin Danese (Carney-Satterfield) McCormick, age 60, of Ripley, WV formerly a long-time resident of Charlotte, NC passed away at Bristol Medical Center in Bristol, TN on January 28, 2019.

Robin was born on September 20, 1958 in Charleston, WV to the late Reverend Willard Carney and the late Mary Carney. She grew up in Charleston and Ripley. Her Godmother was Ruby Bowman from Ripley, WV, so she spent a lot of time there too.

Robin married Roger McCormick in 1992 and they settled in Charlotte, NC. She spent more than 25 years in Charlotte before relocating to Ripley to be closer to her family.

Robin was a dedicated and hard worker. She worked as an LPN in Geriatrics for more than 30 years.

Robin was a devoted and loving mother and “Maw Maw”. She was so proud of her family. She loved spending the Fourth of July in Ripley and Christmas in Charleston, WV. Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She sang for many years in various southern gospel groups throughout WV, OH, NC, and SC. She was a devoted mom to Andrea Moss and her husband Donny of Rock Hill, SC & Nicole Freeman and her husband Brad Freeman of Charlotte, NC. She was “Maw Maw” to Dylan, Jaelyn, and Brooklyn; and her newest additions Brittany and Destiney. She was also very special to her brothers and sisters: William Carney, Faith Hayman, Charity Grisanti, and the late Angela Carney.

Family and friends will gather at Hissom Tabernacle Church, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, WV, on Saturday, February 9th for visitation from 11-1 PM, immediately followed by a funeral service at 1 PM.,with Bonnie Hissom officiating.  Entombment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Mausoleun, Dunbar, WV.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the family or go fund me to defray burial expenses.
