Linda Lou Carpenter

April 1, 1943 — October 24, 2017

Linda L. Stutler Carpenter, 74, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George G. and Bernice A. Stutler; husband, Jack L. Carpenter; daughters, Jackie and Jaqulin Carpenter, Bobbi J. Carpenter Evans; brothers, George O. Stutler, Virgil Eugene "Gene" Stutler; and sister, Marlene Stutler Carpenter.
Linda was a member of the Garrison Avenue Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Kanawha County Schools, Elk Center Daycare.
Left to cherish her memory, children, Anita Carpenter of Charleston, Jackie Pettry (Micky) of Cabin Creek; grandchildren, Joshua Evans (Jessica Woods), Lynse Evans Price (Brian), Neka Osborn (Jeremy Lane), Tierani Wood (Brandon), Zackary Wilkinson (Makayla), Cody Carpenter (Alexandria Blankenship), Amy Anthony (John), Erin Daniels (Mark); 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Stashie Gleason of South Charleston, Joyce Prouse (Glen) of Charleston, Diane Myers (Frank) of Tavares, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Connie.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, with Pastor Larry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at the funeral home.
