Imogene Walden, 85, of Charleston, went to be with the Lord, March 8, 2019. She was born June 25, 1933, in Clay County, to the late Joe and Florence Edwards Dawson.
She was also preceded by her husband, Tom Walden; sons, David and Jimmy Walden.
Imogene was a retired cook for Kanawha County Schools and member of Hanson Chapel Church, Mill Creek, where she sang in the choir. She loved yard sales and shopping, and enjoyed gardening and canning.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Walden (John) Saunders of Charleston; granddaughters, Michelle Horton and Laura Walden; great-grandchildren, Johnathon Horton, Elijah and Shannon; great - great - grandchild, Mahkyis; brothers, Neil, Leonard and Lloyd Dawson.
Funeral service will be held noon Monday, March 11, at the Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, WV 25302, with Rev. Rick Bruner officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memorial Park, Cross Lanes. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time, Monday at the funeral home.
