Imogene Gullian, 88, of Charleston, passed away Sunday evening, October 9, 2016, at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home, surrounded by family and friends.
Imogene was a housewife and loyal wife, mother, grandmother; and great-grandmother. Most importantly, Imogene knew Jesus Christ and was saved at a young age. She instilled her faith in her daughter, husband, and grandchildren. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Imogene was born in Charleston to Carl and Hattie Keeney, on January 30, 1928. She was the youngest of three sisters and was preceded in death by Mildred Genevieve Wines and Louise Wills. She was also preceded by her loving husband, Lawrence Gullian. (August 19, 2008).
She is survived by her loving daughter, who was with her at her time of passing, Jean Ann Melton (Mike) of Charleston. She is survived by her two grandsons, the loves of her life, Brian Butts (Crystal), of Lakeland, Fla., and Jeremy Butts of Page, Ariz. She had two very special and loved great-grandchildren, Blake and Brody. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as numerous very close friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to the entire staff at Meadowbrook Nursing Home for their wonderful care and love.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 29, at Canaan Baptist Church, 1919 Bigley Ave. with Pastor Ray Williams presiding. Elk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to to invite everyone to a reception, honoring the life of Imogene to be held immediately after the service at the church.
