Erma Samples

Erma Irene Samples, 92, of Bomont, West Virginia, passed away on March 3, 2025. She was the daughter of Hazel (White) Hart and Conda White, also of Bomont, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Clay Samples, her sister Brenda Fields, her brother-in-law Robert Fields, and her daughter Stacy Jane Samples.

Her surviving children are her son Ron Samples, daughter Terry Mullins and son-in-law Wyatte Mullins, and special great-grandson Devin Good, all of Bomont, West Virginia.

Erma was a housewife and mother her entire life. She was always there for her family. She was an avid reader, and due to her macular degeneration, she was nearly blind, which took this great love from her. She loved to read medical books. She could diagnose nearly any illness with great precision. We always told her she could have been a doctor if she had wanted. She was also a talented beautician. In her younger years, she would cut anyone's hair for free. Erma was brilliant and could have chosen any career path she wanted, but she chose to take care of her family. She also had a fantastic memory. She could remember everyone's birthdates, wedding dates, etc. People always called Erma when they needed to know when something happened. Erma also loved to talk and had many, many friends who have reached out, telling the family just how much they loved her and loved to talk to her. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her children, who loved her dearly.

To honor her wishes, there will not be a funeral. A private burial service for the family will be held at the White Cemetery in Bomont, West Virginia.
