On September 3rd, Doris Jean Foster of Big Chimney WV, Passed away while sleeping in her home, at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas “Buck” Williams, and Gene Williams, Sisters, Francis Wines, Lena Gay McCandlish, Ruth Ashworth, and Mary Ann Betleyoun, and grandsons, Chad Foster & Shawn Foster. She is survived in death by her brother, Dennis & Kitty Williams, sister, Kathy & Tommy Cantley Shaffer, Daughters, Patti Foster & Vicky Foster, son John Foster, grandson, JD Foster & many loving nieces and nephews.
Doris was born on December 22nd, 1936. She grew up in Magazine Hollow (Garrison Ave). She was raised with many brothers and sisters by her father, Tom Williams, and Mother Eva Marie Williams. She was an alumni of Stonewall Jackson High-school, and retired from C&P/Bell Atlantic telephone company after 40 years of service as an engineer.
Doris was a pillar of her community in the Mile Fork area. She was friendly with everyone and loved socializing with her neighbors. Doris absolutely loved country music. She enjoyed going out with her sister to do karaoke and she loved going to Nashville to hear everyone sing and take pictures with her favorite stars. Her favorite singer was her “boyfriend” Elvis Presley.
Above all else, Doris’s Favorite thing in the world was her children and grandchildren. Her family’s happiness was the singular purpose for everything she did and she loved being a part of their lives.
Doris's wishes were to be cremated and have no services.
