Alice Dianne Oldaker

Alice Dianne Downs Oldaker, 80, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2020, after a long illness.

she was born November 26, 1939, in Huntington, WV, to the late Oliver and Freida Sparks Downs.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School and also preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Carlene Garten, Merle Tiller and Mary R. Rawlings, and her infant children, David Allen Oldaker, Timothy Larry Oldaker, daughter-in-law, Sharon Oldaker, former husband, Robert L. Oldaker, and former in laws, James and Pansy Hunt, all of Huntington, WV.
She was a former employee of Bank of West Virginia and Lowe’s.

Dianne was a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Dianne is survived by her children, James L. Oldaker (Sherrie), Robert A. Oldaker (Kim), Scott A. Oldaker (Teresa) all of Charleston, Karen R. Swain (Robert) of Oldsmar, FL, and Gregory D. Oldaker, her grandchildren, Robert J. Oldaker, Emily Brumfield (Josh), Nicholas Oldaker (Peggy), Dr. Christopher Oldaker ( Roopa), Alyssa Oldaker, Erin Swain and Connor Swain. Her great grandchildren, J.D., Sophia, and Mason Brumfield, and Ashton Oldaker, she also survived by several special nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff of Valley Center Nursing Home for taking such good care of Mom! Also, a thank you to Mom’s long-time friend Susie, for your friendship over the years.  Our family appreciates you all very much.

Elk Funeral Home will handle the cremation and a burial and service will take place after the pandemic. Dianne will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
